We are proud to participate with local non-profit and interest groups that make a difference in the drunk driving epidemic.
MADD San Diego
SCRAM of California works closely with the local San Diego Chapter of MADD, including support and sponsorships at local MADD events in each of the communities we service. This includes MADD’s annual Walk Like MADD fundraiser, Law Enforcement Recognition Dinner, MADD Roundtable, and regular education talks to the MADD executive team and underage drinking coalition.
Taya Chase, Director of Court Services for SCRAM of CA, is a recurring speaker at local MADD Victim Impact Panels—a program for offenders convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol or other drugs, which consists of a non-confrontational presentation consisting of crime victims telling their own personal stories of how impaired drivers forever changed their lives. The panel presents a unique perspective to the offender that is often overlooked or simply cannot be taught by the courts and the DUI offender schools.
In addition, the entire SCRAM team frequently volunteers their time at local MADD awareness campaigns and DUI sobriety check points.
Orange County DUI Task Force
SCRAM of CA is a member of the Orange County DUI Task Force, an organization formed in 2009 as part of the Alcohol Impaired Driving Task Force of Costa Mesa and in response to local research noting the need for a community response to address alcohol and/or drug impaired driving issues in Orange County.
Veterans Treatment Courts /
Juvenile Drug Court Programs
Veterans Treatment Courts serve a growing population of U.S. Military Veterans struggling with addiction, physical and mental health challenges, homelessness, and unemployment. These courts are helping men and women who are stuck in a cycle of criminal behavior driven by their combat-related mental health and addiction disorders. SCRAM of CA donates grant and scholarship funds, as well as time, products, and services to the Veterans Treatment Courts and Juvenile Drug Court Programs in California.
Break the Silence
SCRAM CA President and General Manager, Aaron Fleisher, sits on the Board of Directors for Break the Silence, an organization that inspires victims and survivors of domestic violence, child abuse, and sexual assault by breaking the silence and empowering these individuals to embark into new beginnings for a healthy self-sufficient future.
